Problem:

Hey everyone! So, I don’t know if it’s because I don’t have the latest iOS update, but I have an app that closes as soon as I open it or like 5 seconds later. I’ve tried closing the app and then reopening it but it doesn’t change anything. I’ve tried a lot of things like displaying the app menu directly after opening the buggy app and going back to it right after but that doesn’t work either. I have an iphone 7+ 64GB and I’m on ios 10. Thanks for your help!

The solutions:

1. Update the application

Most of the time, an application reacts strangely because it is not up to date. While it may simply be slower, or not take your actions into account, it may also close itself. So, you’ll update your failing app by going to the App Store and then to the Update tab. Look for your app in the list that appears on your screen and click on Update. If the application is not displayed, or if the problem persists, read on.

2. Uninstall and reinstall the application

This method works in most cases. Locate your failed application on your iPhone and follow these steps:

  • Press the app’s icon with your finger for a long time until it becomes mobile.
  • Pressthe red cross that appears above the app.
  • Open the App Store and type the name of the app in the search bar.
  • Press the cloud icon to start reinstalling the app.

3. Update iOS

The application seems to refuse to work on your iPhone. This may mean that the problem is with your device’s operating system. If you don’t have the latest iOS update, you’ll have to install it to check if it’s just a compatibility issue. If it is, the app will work, if not, you’ll have to dig a little deeper.

First, as before every update, make a backup of your data, either on iCloud or on your computer. Connect your iPhone to power, and make sure you are connected to Wi-Fi. Go to Settings then General and tap Software Update then Download and Install. Your iPhone may offer to update at night. If you accept, be sure to power up your device before you go to bed.
