Restore from backup

On many Android devices, contacts are backed up automatically for security. It is possible to access the backups your smartphone has made before your contacts disappear.

Go to the settings of your smartphone. Tap Google then tap Restore all contacts. You can see the automatic backups made by your device. Next to each backup is the date it was created and the number of contacts in the backup. Select the one you want and press Restore.

Use a program

The most efficient way to recover contacts on Android is to use a software dedicated from your computer. There are indeed free software to recover all kinds of data deleted from your Android. The method below is explained with Tenorshare but there are other software.

  1. Download and run the software on your computer.
  2. Go to Recover lost data. Connect your smartphone to your computer via USB.
