You have a project and are ready to start your business. Everything is ready except one thing: your start-up capital. Fortunately, you don’t have to finance the launch of your business alone. Indeed, there are many aids to support you financially and benefit from tax reductions at the beginning of your activity. These aids also apply when you want to open a self-business at home .

Created in 2007, the aid for setting up or taking over a business allows you to benefit from a partial exemption from social security charges during the first few years of activity. The exemption applies to sickness, maternity, disability and death insurance, family benefits and basic old age insurance.

If you are a self-employed person covered by the micro social regime and you belong to one of these categories, you are eligible for the ACRE:

  • Jobseeker receiving compensation.
  • Jobseeker not entitled to compensation and registered with the employment office for at least 6 months during the last 18 months.
  • Beneficiary of the ASS (allocation de solidarite spécifique) or the RSA (Revenu de solidarite active).
  • Must be between 18 and 26 years old.
  • Be under 30 years of age and have a recognized disability.
  • Person under 30 years of age who is not entitled to compensation because he/she does not meet the condition of having worked for a certain period of time before being entitled to unemployment insurance benefits.
  • Employee or redundant person taking over their company under safeguard, recovery or judicial liquidation.
  • Person who has concluded a business project support contract (Cape).
  • Create or take over a business located in a priority city district (QPV).
  • Benefit from the shared child education benefit (PreParE).

Self-employed workers who are not covered by the micro social regime and replacement doctors who do not opt for the simplified regime can also benefit from the ACRE.

To obtain the ACRE, you need to fill in a form and send it to the Urssaf , either when you submit your creation (or takeover) file, or within (45) days of this submission .

We would like to point out that a change in the place of work, a change in the conditions of work, and the resumption of activity during the year in which the cessation of activity took place are not eligible for the ACRE.

The amount of the exemption will depend on your activity income. In 2020, the exemption from social security contributions is total if your income is less than 30,852EUR. This represents about 75% of the total contributions. Above 41,136EUR of income, you are no longer eligible for the exemption. Between these two levels, you benefit from a 50% reduction in your social security contributions.
